Former Texas QB Ja’Quinden Jackson announces transfer to Utah

For the second time in the last two years, the Texas Longhorns are losing a quarterback to the Utah Utes via transfer after freshman Ja’Quinden Jackson announced his new destination on Twitter early Sunday morning.

Jackson entered the NCAA transfer portal last Tuesday after one season on the Forty Acres and will join Cameron Rising, a 2018 Texas quarterback signee who also transferred to Utah after one season with the Longhorns.

A 6’2, 232-pounder, Jackson was part of a two-man quarterback class for the Longhorns in the 2020 cycle, joining Lake Travis standout Hudson Card.
