Former Texas Longhorns guard Jacob Young announced via Twitter Saturday that he will be joining the Rutgers Scarlet Knights for the upcoming season.
Young seemed poised to have an increased role in his third year at Texas. In the 2017-2018 season, he started 30 games for the Longhorns, averaging 6.2 points per game in 16.8 minutes. Young’s minutes dwindled in the middle of the season, but Young saw his contributions increase after Eric Davis Jr. was held out of the final six games of the season.
His biggest game of his came late last season the season, a 29-point explosion against Texas Tech in the Big 12 Tournament.
