Another high-level prospect is following new Texas Longhorns head coach Jim Schlossnagle to the Forty Acres with the Thursday pledge of Lake Charles (La.) Barbe catcher Presley Courville, filling an important need in the 2025 recruiting class.
Originally pledged to the Texas A&M Aggies when Schlossnagle was still in College Station, the 6’0, 175-pounder opened up his recruitment when Schlossnagle took over in Austin and exploring the process for a month and a half before deciding on Texas.
With Kimble Schuessler out of eligibility and the possibility of Rylan Galvan signing a professional contract after the 2025 MLB Draft with a strong junior season, the Longhorns filled a need for a high-level prospect as a potential starter in 2026 with the commitment of Courville.
