The Texas running back was honored on Saturday night as the 2016 recipient of the Doak Walker Award.
DALLAS, Texas – D'Onta Foreman was honored on Saturday night as the 2016 winner of the Doak Walker Award, given annually to best running back in college football.
Foreman, who finished second in the nation (led the nation when voting was completed) with 2,028 rushing yards despite playing in just 11 games, is the third Longhorn to win the prestigious award which began in 1990. Ricky Williams was a two-time winner, in both 1997 and 1998, while Cedric Benson won the award in 2004.
