The Longhorns will visit children at area hospitals each Friday before a home game during the season.

Last weekend, in the midst of preparing for the team's home opener at Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium against Tulsa, members of the football program suited up in their burnt orange jerseys for a separate but meaningful occasion. On Friday, Sept. 7, Texas football teamed up with the Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas to spend an afternoon fishing with young children receiving treatment at the hospital.
Larry's Fish Farm provided more than 300 fish in a pool set up in the Healing Garden at Dell Children's, where patients could fish alongside their family and Longhorn players.
