AMES, Iowa – Iowa State (3-5, 2-3 Big 12) knocked off Texas (3-5, 2-3 Big 12) by a 24-0 count Saturday evening at Jack Trice Stadium.
Texas quarterback Tyrone Swoopes led the Horns with his 58 yards on the ground and 59 yards in the air via six completions. Daje Johnson led the Horns' receiving contingent with six catches for 37 yards. Linebacker Peter Jinkens notched a game-high nine tackles and two sacks. Cornerback Davante Davis added three pass break-ups.
Iowa State drove 66 yards on its second possession and took a 7-0 lead behind Mike Warren's three-yard touchdown run with 8:38 left in the first quarter.
