Austin – The University of Texas and University of Notre Dame have agreed to a home-and-home football series that will see the Longhorns travel to South Bend, Ind., on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2028, while the Fighting Irish will visit Austin on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2029.
The non-conference games will match two of the winningest programs in NCAA history with Texas ranking fourth on the NCAA all-time victory list with 957 wins, and Notre Dame just one win behind with 956 to rank fifth.
UT and Notre Dame have met 12 times in football dating back to 1913 with the Irish winning nine of those.
