AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Track and Field sophomore sprinter Kynnedy Flannel was named the Big 12 Women's Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday. It is the second time in Flannel's career she has earned the honor outdoors, first doing so on Jan. 23, 2019 as a freshman.
Flannel, an Alvin, Texas native, swept the sprint double in a dual meet vs. No. 6 Texas A&M last Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium. She first won the 100-meter race with a time of 11.23 – the eighth-fastest time in the NCAA this season and one that moves her to 10th on Texas' top performers list.
