The fallout from the retirement of Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban was swift on Wednesday, at least for one elite prospect in the 2024 class — Saraland (Ala.) wide receiver Ryan Williams announced his decommitment from the Crimson Tide.
In addition to Saban’s retirement, Alabama wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins recently left to become the co-offensive coordinator under Mike Elko at Texas A&M.
The consensus five-star prospect has also been considering other options since re-classifying from the 2025 recruiting class and choosing not to sign during the early signing period, setting up official visits to Texas on January 27 and Auburn on February 3 following a trip to Texas A&M this weekend.
