Five former Texas players invited to NFL Combine

Draft season is heating up coming out of the all-star games, with five former Texas Longhorns players were announced by the school as receiving NFL Combine invites on Tuesday:

Those five players include four Longhorns who exhausted their eligibility at the Sugar Bowl and underclassman wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey. Joining Humphrey are defensive end Charles Omenihu, linebacker Gary Johnson, cornerback Kris Boyd, and cornerback Davante Davis.

Notable snubs include defensive tackle Chris Nelson and tight end Andrew Beck, who will have to impress scouts during testing and drill work at the Texas Pro Day.
