IRVING, Texas — University of Texas sophomore guard Jase Febres has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. This marks Febres' first career weekly league honor.
Febres averaged 24.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 39.0 minutes per game in UT's pair of contests last week against Baylor and Iowa State. He converted 65.4-percent (17-26) from the floor, including a 62.5-percent mark (15-24) from three-point range, during the two games.
In Wednesday's overtime game at Baylor (Feb. 27), Febres posted 23 points while hitting 8-of-15 field goals, including 7-of-14 from three-point range.
