The Texas Longhorns got their second bit of bad news on July 4 as elite offensive tackle Kelvin Banks made his pledge to the Oregon Ducks.
Banks is the No. 15 player in the country and the No. 5 player in the state of Texas out of Summer Creek High School in Humble. He held 24 offers but narrowed his field down to five schools - making all five official visits during the month of June. Texas seemed to be in a strong position for his talents but now lost their second priority tackle to Mario Cristobal after Cameron Williams picked the Ducks earlier in the weekend.
