Elite in-state WR Quentin Johnson commits to Texas over TCU

Tom Herman’s staff can check yet another box off of their 2020 recruiting wishlist, as the Texas Longhorns finally have a wide receiver on the board with the addition of Temple product Quentin Johnson.

Oklahoma and Baylor were each previous options, as well, though Johnson’s recruiting ultimately became a head-to-head battle between Texas and TCU.

The Horned Frogs were the only program to host Johnson for an official visit, and he told BON that TCU offered the small, homey feel he’s used to being from Temple.

However, Texas, too, provided Johnson with that “homey” feeling he sought after; a level of comfort likely established after he visited the Horns more than any other program pushing for his services.
