AUSTIN, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced today its 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball team, which features eight Longhorns in all. Sam Bertelson, Bryce Elder, Tristan Stevens, Matt Whelan and Zach Zubia were all named to the first team, while Matteo Bocchi, Masen Hibbeler and Michael McCann were second team selections.
In all, 95 student-athletes are recognized on the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Baseball team which is comprised of 67 first team members and 28 second team honorees.
Zubia (Communication & Leadership) received second team honors as a redshirt freshman last season, while McCann (Supply Chain Management) is on the All-Academic team for the third time in his career.
