AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football senior QB Sam Ehlinger was named a top-15 candidate for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award on Friday. The Golden Arm Award is presented annually to the top senior or upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class. Candidates are selected based on their performance both on and off the field.
Ehlinger, a two-time team captain, has thrown for 1,834 yards and 22 touchdowns through seven games this season. He is also the team's leading rusher with 323 yards and seven touchdowns. The Austin native leads the country in passing touchdowns (22) and ranks second in total points responsible for (178).
