AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football senior QB Sam Ehlinger was named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy presented by Mazda, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced Thursday. The Campbell Trophy honors college football's best scholar-athlete. Texas has had two previous winners of the Campbell Trophy in Dallas Griffin (2007) and Sam Acho (2010).
Ehlinger, a two-time team captain, has completed 52-of-73 passes for 688 yards and 10 touchdowns to only one interception, and carried the ball 19 times for 81 yards and one touchdown, through the first two games of the 2020 season.
