Texas junior running back D’Onta Foreman is taking the money and running to the NFL.
It’s hard to blame him. After rushing for 2,028 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, Foreman’s stock has sky-rocketed.
“I had a wonderful season,” said Foreman, flanked by twin brother Armanti in making the announcement Tuesday. “Just striking when the iron is hot.”
As much as Texas fans might have hoped for Foreman to stay for Tom Herman’s first season as Texas coach like Ricky Williams did with Mack Brown, it made little sense. Given the short shelf life of running backs and Foreman’s bruising style, a lot of things could have gone wrong for Foreman next year.
