The Longhorns' season is over.
After an up-and-down 5–7 campaign, reports surfaced Friday that new head coach Tom Herman would reject a bowl bid if offered by the NCAA. Texas had a chance to be selected if not enough teams qualified for the 80 postseason spots available.
Here are six pro's and con's to the Longhorns' decision to decline a bowl game.
It would be messy (Pro): Accepting a bowl bid would put Herman in a sticky spot. Would he coach the bowl game? Would he keep former coach Charlie Strong's staff for one last game?
