AUSTIN, Texas – Freshman punter Michael Dickson was recognized for his role in helping the Texas Longhorns defeat Kansas State, 23-9, in a rain-soaked contest at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
The Australian punter had a potential game-saving play early in the fourth quarter to preserve Texas' 23-9 win against K-State. Dickson came on to punt with the ball at the K-State 41-yard line and UT holding on to a 16-9 lead before a bad snap sent him retreating back to the UT 32-yard line. The true freshman scooped up the ball with defenders closing in on him and punted it downfield to the K-State 8-yard line.
