LANDOVER, Md. -- Texas' second drive of Saturday's season opener against Maryland at FedEx Field saw some offensive explosion that was desperately missed last season for the Longhorns.
After a 33-yard punt return by junior safety Brandon Jones set up shop for the Longhorns at Maryland's 39-yard line, sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger delivered a strike to junior wide receiver Devin Duvernay to help tie things up at 7-7 midway through the first quarter.
The Longhorns trail 14-7 late in the first quarter.
