When the Texas Longhorns start spring practice on Tuesday for the first time under new head coach Steve Sarkisian and the first time in two seasons, junior linebacker DeMarvion Overshown is among seven players who will not participate due to injuries, the school announced on Monday.
Entering his second season as a starter at linebacker, Overshown recently underwent surgery on his shoulder to correct a torn labrum. Since Overshown has not spent a full offseason at the position and wanted to gain weight to better handle the demands of playing closer to the line of scrimmage, it’s a disappointing development for him and for the team.
