Texas defensive backs coach Chris Vaughn is unlikely to return to Charlie Strong's staff, a source familiar with the situation confirmed Wednesday.
Orangebloods.com and 247Sports were among those reporting that Vaughn is out after two seasons. Vaughn's departure may be connected to the current investigation at Mississippi, where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 2008-2011 under Houston Nutt. Citing sources, 247Sports reported that the facts against Vaughn "were damning."
The Associated Press reported this week that 13 of the 28 violations alleged by the NCAA involve the football program. Mississippi athletic director Ross Bjork told the AP that "many" of the football allegations go back to Nutt's tenure.
