EUGENE. Ore. - Ryan Crouser was crowned the 2022 World Athletics Championship shot put champion on Sunday night.
The Texas All-American and shot put legen added his first World Championships title to his name in Hayward Field after setting a championships shot put record with a throw of 22.94m on his fifth throw of the series. Crouser's world championship title goes along with his two Olympic gold medals and helped Team USA sweep the shot put event.
Two-time NCAA shot put champion Tripp Piperi finished eighth in his World Championship shout put final debut with a throw of 20.
