College football's main opening weekend is just days away, and now is the time for writers and fans to make their bold predictions for the 2017 season.
ESPN's Mark Schlabach made his own set of bold predictions in a column Tuesday, and one will jump out at Longhorn fans. Schlabach predicted former Texas and current South Florida coach Charlie Strong will finish with more wins than Tom Herman and the Longhorns in 2017.
"Strong didn't leave the cupboard bare at Texas, but he's walking into a tailor-made situation at USF," Schlabach said. "The Bulls bring back quarterback Quinton Flowers and 14 other starters, and their schedule isn't exactly daunting .
