TUCSON, Ariz.—Texas right-handed pitcher Morgan Cooper has been named to the Collegiate Baseball All-America third team, the newspaper announced on Thursday morning.
Cooper, who yesterday was named a semifinalist for USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Award, has held opponents to a .203 batting average against this year. His 103 strikeouts lead the Big 12 Conference. He is the first Longhorn to record at least 100 strikeouts since Taylor Jungmann and Cole Green did so in 2011.
