INDIANAPOLIS – Texas-Ex Jack Conger won the 200-meter butterfly while Texas rising junior Townley Haas took third in the 100m freestyle, as the Rio Olympics gold medalists secured berths for next month's World Championships Tuesday evening at the USA Swimming National Championships.

Conger's win earned him an automatic placing on the U.S. roster for the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, while Haas' third-place showing in the 100m freestyle gives him a spot on Team USA's 4x100m freestyle relay in Budapest.

Conger, who set NCAA, American and U.S. Open records in the same event at the same pool three months ago, led from start to finish in the 200m butterfly championship final.
