The Texas Longhorns softball team announced Tuesday the signing of former University of San Diego right-hander pitcher and utility player Paige von Sprecken. As a freshman, von Sprecken led the Toreros with 21 wins and 136 strikeouts in 199 inings pitched.
The Yorba Linda, Calif., resident will join Bekah Alcozer, Christina Bardwell, Reagan Hathaway and Celina Felix as the newest members of the Longhorns in the 2015-16 season.
Head coach Connie Clark said von Sprecken will add depth to the pitching rotation while providing a power option from the ride side of the plate as a batter.
