GAINESVILLE, Fla. – There were a lot of questions for The University of Texas' softball program heading into its first-ever Southeastern Conference (SEC) series this weekend. Teagan Kavan and Katie Cimusz provided those answers as the second-ranked Longhorns took Saturday's two-game doubleheader at third-ranked Florida, 7-2 and 13-7, to not only win its first-ever SEC game but clinch its first-ever SEC series as well.
Relying on those who helped win the Big 12 Conference in 2024, the Texas duo of Mia Scott and Reese Atwood broke open a 1-1 tie in the top of the fourth inning of game on by combing to drive in five runs during the frame with Atwood's three-run home run being the big blow.
