ATLANTA – Texas super senior OL Christian Jones was named to the Wuerffel Trophy watch list on Thursday. The Wuerffel Trophy is presented annually to the college football player that best combines exemplary community service with academic and athletic achievement. Lifetime Longhorn Sam Acho was honored with award in 2010.
Jones is a sixth-year offensive lineman who has played in 48 games with 35 starts. Last season, the Cypress, Texas native played in and started all 13 games at right tackle for the Longhorns on the way to earning honorable mention All-Big 12 honors.
