New Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte will earn $1.3 million this year, under a seven-year deal scheduled to be approved by Texas System Board of Regents next week.

Del Conte's contract will run through 2024 and escalate to $1.57 million in its final year that also includes a one-time payment of $400,000 if he is employed as athletic director on Aug. 31, 2024.
Texas will pay TCU $1 million as part of Del Conte's buyout. Del Conte left TCU to become Texas' athletic director in December, replacing Mike Perrin.

The regents also are scheduled to approve a pay raise for second-year defensive coordinator Todd Orlando to $1.
