AUSTIN, Texas — Thirty-five months ago, father faced son and two elite quarterbacks went head to head in the 6A Division 1 state championship game between Austin Westlake and Southlake Carroll.
In the so-called “Dodge Bowl,” Austin Westlake head coach Todd Dodge, the elder Texas high school football coaching legend, and Southlake Carroll head coach Riley Dodge, the rising head coach at the school for which his father won four state titles in the early 2000s, squared off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington as Cade Klubnik led the Chaps to a 52-34 win over the Dragons.
