If you want a cautionary tale about staff turnover and coaching indecision and the perils of the early signing period, look no further than what transpired at USC this week with elite recruit Bru McCoy.
In the process, Texas became the biggest beneficiary to the fallout, landing McCoy, ranked as the nation's top athlete in the 247Sports Composite ranking. The school confirmed Friday that McCoy had signed and submitted his athletic financial aid agreement. He's heading to Texas after a short stay at USC.
McCoy, from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, brings an intriguing skill set at 6-foot-2, 205 pounds.
