AUSTIN, Texas – National runner-up Women's Swimming and Diving's Janie Boyle and Emma Sticklen have been named Academic All-Americans, the College Sports Communicators announced Monday. The first national academic accolade for both Longhorns, Boyle and Sticklen were each named to the Division I Academic All-America Third Team.
Boyle and Sticklen are the first Longhorns to be selected Academic All-Americans since Claire Adams and Alison Gibson in 2020. Texas has had two student-athletes recognized as Academic All-Americans for the eighth time in program history and second time since 2008.
Sticklen is the 2023 NCAA National Champion in the 200-yard breaststroke, winning gold at last week's national meet with a program-record time of 1:49.
