AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Track and Field program shined on the first day of the Rod McCravy Memorial Invite, winning four events, set one NCAA record and recorded numerous UT All-Time performances.
Yusuf Bizimana was the star of the night, breaking a seven-year NCAA record in the 1,000-meter dash. Bizimana's winning time was 2:18.10, besting Brannon Kidder of Penn State's time of 2:18.26 set in 2016. The six-time All-American won by over six seconds in the last event of the night. Bizimana also took down the 37-year old Texas record set by Pablo Squella (2:21.
