On the final day of the 2015 college football regular season (excluding next week’s Army-Navy game), four of college football’s biggest conferences but on championship games, each one of them featuring teams with a chance to make the playoff. Meanwhile the Big 12 featured two games: 4-7 Texas at Baylor and 5-6 Kansas State at West Virginia. Yawn.
As I watched the conference championship games on Saturday, I couldn’t help but think back on the now defunct Big 12 Championship Game. I understand the argument for the round robin scheduling that the Big 12 promotes, but there is no doubt that the conference missed out Saturday.
