Bevo’s Daily Roundup: Texas lawmakers overwhelmingly approve name, image, likeness bill

On Sunday, lawmakers in the Texas House of Representatives approved a Senate bill that would enable athletes at universities to profit from their name, image, and likeness.

The legislation currently awaits Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s signature into law.

The bill was approved overwhelmingly by the House, with a vote of 117-27.

The Texas Senate initially approved the bill by a 28-2 vote.
