Bevo’s Daily Roundup: New HC Steve Sarkisian may bring Alabama assistants to Texas

Newly hired Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian may dip into the Alabama Crimson Tide’s cookie jar of assistant coaches when assembling his staff in Austin, 247Sports report.

From 247Sports: “Holmon Wiggins, who has led the Crimson Tide’s wide receiver corps the past two years, is a top target for Sarkisian to lead the Longhorns’ efforts at the wideout spot. Horns247 reported Sunday there are additional Alabama assistants who could be getting a call for Sarkisian at other position groups. ... Wiggins has played a vital role in [wide receiver DeVonta Smith’s] development and his personnel grouping is expected to have multiple first-round picks for the second consecutive NFL Draft cycle in 2021 as Smith and Jaylen Waddle should join Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs as Day 1 selections.
