247Sports reports that Big 12 officials are owning up to a clock error they made during last weekend’s showdown between the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners, in which they allowed for Texas to have an 39 seconds on the clock during the fourth quarter.
From 247Sports: “With 6:07 to play, Sam Ehlinger took a shotgun snap on 3rd and 4 and went out of bounds just short of the first-down, leaving 5:57 left on the game clock. Ehlinger prepared to snap the ball on 4th and 1 with 5:50 remaining, but officials then blew the play dead, asking for the clock operator to set the clock to have 6:36 left in the game.
