Area college football teams were involved in a number of high-profile games during Week 2. Texas A&M hosted No. 2 Clemson and took the Tigers to the brink before ultimately falling two points short. Texas shook off a Week 1 loss by topping Tulsa on Saturday, but wasn't particularly impressive doing so. SMU hosted TCU in a rain-soaked, oft-delayed Friday night matchup. The Mustangs led early, but TCU took control and pulled away in the second half. And North Texas, Baylor and Texas Tech all found themselves on the good ends of blowout victories.
