Bench coach Steve Buechele should be on the way to Austin before the first pitch on Sunday to watch son Shane's college football debut at quarterback with Texas.
Texas coach Charlie Strong made it clear Monday that he has chosen, pretty much, between senior Tyrone Swoopes and Buechele, a true freshman.
"If he's still here, I might walk out and tell the umpires to throw him out," manager Jeff Banister said.
Banister is open to coaches and players leaving the club to share in significant moments with their family. He believes that helps keep a balance between the demands of the game and family responsibilities.
