AUSTIN, Texas — No. 8 Texas recorded its first-ever Southeastern Conference home series victory, defeating No. 2 LSU, 6-2, in a rubber game Sunday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.
The Longhorns (19-3, 5-1 SEC) limited the Tigers (22-3, 4-2 SEC) to a season-low two runs and scored in three of the first four frames to secure their first series win over a top-2 team since March 1-3, 2019.
Right fielder Max Belyeu drove in four of the six Texas tallies, highlighted by a two-run shot in the fourth and an RBI triple in the sixth.
