NEW YORK, N.Y. — Texas Football's Andrew Beck was named to the 2018 watch list for the John Mackey Award, The Friends of John Mackey announced on Friday. The Mackey Award is given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end. The award has been annually presented since 2000.
A native of Tampa, Fla., Beck missed the entire 2017 season due to injury, but was still elected as a team captain. He has played in 37 career games with 16 starts. He has made 12 catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns in his career, serving as a versatile tight end who is strong in the run game.
