The NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship selection committee on Monday revealed its current top 16 teams for the NCAA Tournament that tips off on March 17 and culminates with the Final Four at American Airlines Center on March 31 and April 2.
Baylor, ranked second in the AP Poll, was seeded No. 2 behind defending national champion Connecticut. Texas, ranked No. 12, is also among the NCAA's top 16 seeds.
The early reveal could be significant because it cites the 16 teams that could host first- and second-round tournament games on their home courts.
But it's only a guideline with almost two months remaining in the regular and conference tournament season.
