AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball left-handed pitcher Pete Hansen has been named a Freshman All-American, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper announced this week.
Hansen did not allow an earned run during his shortened first year on the Forty Acres. The El Dorado Hills, Calif. product, made a total of six appearances, including one start, and posted a 2-0 record with one save.
Opponents batted just .158 against him and he allowed only nine hits over his 17 innings pitched. He struck out 18 batters and issued only two walks. In his one start of the season, he pitched five innings and struck out six batters.
