AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball had two players selected on day two of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft on Monday, with outfielder Mike Antico selected in the eighth round and right-handed pitcher Cole Quintanilla taken in the ninth round.
Antico, who was selected with the 241st overall pick, had a tremendous season after coming to Texas as a graduate transfer. In his one season with the Longhorns, he batted .273 and led the team with 69 runs scored and 41 stolen bases.
He finished the year as the NCAA base on balls leader with 63 walks and second nationally with his 41 stolen bases.
