Baseball pounds out 11 hits in 5-3 win over Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kansas—Backed by a seven-inning effort from Nolan Kingham, Texas Baseball (19-10, 4-3 Big 12) poured on 11 hits in a 5-3 win over Kansas (10-15, 1-3) on Friday night at Hoglund Ballpark.

The Longhorns got on the board in the first when, with two outs, Kacy Clemens hit his team-leading fifth long ball of the season to give Texas a 1-0 lead.

Kansas immediately responded in the bottom half, however, as the Jayhawks benefitted from an unearned run to pull even at 1-1.

In the third, Bret Boswell reached on a dropped fly and one batter later, catcher Michael McCann singled to left to plate Boswell and put the Longhorns back on top 2-1.
