AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Baseball has been selected to finish fourth in the Preseason Big 12 Baseball Coaches' Poll, the league announced Thursday. The poll is voted on by the league's head coaches and coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team.
The Longhorns sit behind preseason favorite TCU, who received five first place votes, Oklahoma State with four first place votes and Texas Tech. The teams sitting behind Texas in order are, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kansas State, Kansas and Baylor.
Last season, Texas finished fifth in the Big 12 standings but the top six teams in the league were separated by just two games.
