Baseball edged, 4-3, by Long Beach State to force decisive final regional game

LONG BEACH, Calif.—Although it rallied back to tie the ballgame twice, Texas Baseball fell, 4-3, to Long Beach State on Sunday night in the Long Beach Regional at Blair Field. With the loss, the Longhorns (39-23) and Dirtbags (40-18-1) will now play on Monday night at 10 p.m. CT, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Super Regional.

Texas got a solid start out of right-hander Kyle Johnston, who battled through seven innings of work and allowed three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four.

Long Beach State plated runs in the second and fifth innings before Texas could strike.
