MANHATTAN, Kan. – Texas Baseball dropped the series opener to No. 23 Kansas State, 14-3, after an eight run second inning by the Wildcats on Thursday at Tointon Family Stadium.
The Longhorns (15-11, 4-3) will look to bounce back and even the series on Friday at 6 p.m.
Jalin Flores blasted the Longhorns to a 1-0 lead with a solo home run to left field in the top of the first inning. Dee Kennedy made it a 3-0 lead by hitting his first career homer out to left field. The homer was a two-out, two-run shot out to left field.
