HOUSTON, Texas – Texas Baseball pounded six doubles and Donny Diaz closed his second game of the weekend to secure a 5-4 win and complete the sweep of Rice on Sunday at Reckling Park.
Diaz pitched his second scoreless inning of the weekend with one strikeout. He recorded his third career save and second of the early season.
The top four hitters in the Texas lineup each had two hits and combined for five doubles. Austin Todd was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored, Duke Ellis went 2-for-4 with a run scored, Zach Zubia was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI and DJ Petrinsky was also 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
